Managing your product backlog

As a product manager, one of your key responsibilities can be managing the product backlog. The product backlog is a prioritized list of all the work that needs to be done in order to improve the product. Agile development teams use the product backlog to track progress and make sure that they are delivering the most value to users.

Are you prioritizing the items on the backlog based on their impact on the business and on users. Are you linking backlog items to customer problems? Is the size of items on the backlog consistent with the team’s velocity and the complexity they can handle?

Is your product backlog is always up-to-date. Does it need to be? What do you do with stale items? Do you regularly review the backlog and adjust it based on new insights?
