Instructions for running this play

  1. List values. Ask participants to conduct a Silent Storming exercise writing down as many potential brand values as they can think of on sticky notes. Consider sharing inspirational values to get their minds flowing.
  2. Share Value. Each participant Playbacks their by placing their sticky notes on a large surface, creating a shared master list.
  3. Vote on Values. Participant Notes and Votes on their top three values from the list. Let each participant share their top three and initiate a short discussion about the most voted values.
  4. Final call. The Decider, after careful thought, writes down the top three values in order of importance, thus finalizing the brand’s core values.

Invite stakeholders or clients to participate in the exercise to provide a broader perspective.

Tip: Use a bigger list

Try to rank a larger initial list of values before narrowing down to the top three to ensure a comprehensive evaluation.

Pose hypothetical decision-making scenarios to test the applicability of the proposed values.
